Lemont Furnace, PA (Uniontown area) Position SummaryThe Procurement Engineer II will provide direct engineering support and leadership to the Procurement & Proposal Team in all efforts associated with procuring material for AAC contracts and generating material cost estimates for proposals.
Primary and Essential Accountabilities Support the procurement and purchase of materials for AAC programs Lead procurement efforts and assist team members through identifying alternate parts, manufacturers & vendors via internet searches & networking, conducting make versus buy decisions, ensuring adequate safety stocks/spares are ordered and maintained, and consulting with vendors to determine product specifications Utilize company procurement software to generate request for quotes and purchase requisitions, as well as create and prepare reports based on material data Maintain and follow up with AAC qualified suppliers in regard to open purchase orders and prospective orders Read and interpret engineering drawings, parts lists, and production bills of materials to make more informed procurement decisions and establish ordering requirements Support the vendor qualification and evaluation process Respond to material inquiries/issues from the receiving department Provide technical input and labor projections for production proposal efforts and material cost input for all proposal efforts Create Bills of Material for proposal efforts using Technical Data Packages Support the Procurement Manager and leadership team with ensuring procurement and proposal team's productivity and effectiveness Support PM/PE System & Engineering Design Reviews (BOMs, Drawings & Documents) Actively participate and lead discussion in Weekly Internal Status Reviews and Supply Chain Meetings Participate in ISO audits, resolve problem tickets, and develop/implement supply chain process improvements Work independently to complete assigned tasks on time and within budget Communicate clearly (written and oral) internally within AAC and externally with supply chain and customer personnel Foster the professional development of entry-level engineers and interns through on-the-job training and consultation and mentorship Perform assigned tasks in accordance with corporate policies and procedures Any other tasks required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other) 5
years of directly applicable experience Experience with and knowledge of MRP systems (Deltek Costpoint preferred) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.
) Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Good interpersonal communication skills Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude Good problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and time management skills Experience with complex defense/aerospace purchasing and proposal activities Excellent knowledge of supply chain management tools and procedures Physical Requirements Lifting (up to 20 lbs.
